Beautiful very large summer-weight pure linen sheet with hand-embroidered border

This is a very large pure linen sheet made from a medium-weight summer-weave linen. It has been beautifully hand-embroidered with conccentric circles of polka-dots and finished with a double ladder border and a large central motif ‘JG’. It is in very good condition, but has a couple of things to signal. There is a very small hole at the lower edge, but the rest of the street is very strong. There are several tiny marks like ink drops in the centre of these sheet, both are really very small and only noticeable when looking for faults (as I do!). Both these issues have been photographed. It has another issue which I can’t get to show up on a photograph as it is so faint - there are a number of parallel yellowish marks, barely visible but they are there. My best guess as to the cause of these is that the sheet has been stored for a long time on a wooden slatted cupboard shelf - wood slowly emits gasses which can discolour fabric. The marks are so slight that once again they are only really visible if you are looking. They don’t affect the physical integrity of the sheet at all.

The sheet has been soaked and washed. It measures 240x315cm
