19th century handwoven linen peasant shirt - slightly more generous size and lovely fabric

I found five of these shirts, all similarly constructed, all made from a very beautiful handwoven linen which has a lovely shot effect with the original flax colour. Note how the shirt has been shaped slightly by gathering the front just below the breast, and at the neckline (and the back of the neck, I forgot to take a photo!). The collar is cotton, the buttons a mix of mother of pearl and corazo or bone. These shirts are highly wearable (a lot of these antique shirts are simply uncomfortable to wear, usually because the arms or body are cut too narrow, or because the fabric is simply too rigid), with a beautiful quality handwoven peasant linen that is slightly finer than average.

They all have minor faults, a small sprinkling of rust marks on an arm, a missing or chipped button, or in the case of the example pictured, a small damage to the buttonhole stitch gusset reinforcement on one side (please see photo). They are priced accordingly. All have been soaked, washed and ironed.

They measure approximately 60cm from armpit to armpit lying flat, so 120cm around the widest part of the torso. They have deep side slits and will easily accommodate larger hips. The arms are around 50cm where they meet the torso and are slightly ‘poet-sleeved’ in construction - once again these will accommodate larger arms. They are 102cm in length.

At time of writing there are now three shirts left.
