Fine linen pillowcase with cutwork *small damages please read description*

Made from finest fil-de-lin linen, this beautiful turn-of-last-century pillowcase was made for someone very wealthy - the quality of the textile and the embroidery work and the large initial medallion on one corner attest to this. This is broderie Richelieu, what we might call cutwork in English, and it is very skillfully executed. This piece is a showstopper, and was meant to be on show rather than actually slept upon. It is in very good condition, doing up at the back with mother of pearl buttons, but it does have a couple of small issues. There are some tiny aread of damage at several of the corners, and there are two places where the fine embroidered design has been damaged - I have photographed the worst of these. It does require a small attention with a needle and thread, but the intricacy of the design makes the damages difficult to spot, and will also hide the repairs, and overall this is in very good condition. The insert size is 67x70cm.
