Good quality serviceable pure linen set of sheet and two pillowcases - 1950's

This is a large sheet with two square pillowcases (all antique and vintage French pillowcases are square!) in a good quality medium weight serviceable pure linen, probably from the mid-50’s. The sheet has a handmade cutwork and ladder border with a second border which is cutwork and drawn-thread, overstitched to form a lacelike effect, and a large central handembroidered cutwork medallion with the initials PT. The pillowcases have those same initials plus the lacey and the ladder borders. They do up at the back with mother of pearl buttons. The mitred corners have all been handstitched.

These are all in very good condition. I have photographed the faults - the sheet has some very pale marks in the centre plus a small pink dot on the border. The pillowcases are perfect on the good side, but one of them has some discolouration on the reverse side. It is not showing up so clearly in the photo but it’s the second photo of the reverse. All of these marks are very faint, and physically the set is in very good condition.

The sheet measures 233x 320cm and the pillowcases insert size is 65x67cm.
