Large decorative metal At Nouveau buckle

€30.00

This beautiful thing dates from around 1900-1910 and is a quite large buckle made of finely-worked metal with a design of leaves and berries. This was not meant to be a working buckle, despite the prongs - it actually functions like a hook and eye with this part being the hook and the other end of the belt would have had a corresponding loop which would attach at the back. This would be quite easy to recreate, as this buckle has the more difficult part of the pair already. It is in excellent condition, a little bit of green tarnish at the back but no damage, and it would look amazing on a bag or belt or even used as a brooch. It measures 10cm wide and 7.5cm high.
