Absolutely enormous (the biggest sheet I have ever found) superb pure linen sheet

€170.00

This sheet is unbelievably big, a good 24cm wider than the next biggest sheet I’ve come across. Clearly belonging to a very wealthy household, one which had rooms which could house beds that required sheets of this size, the quality of the linen is likewise incredible. Medium-weight but very densely woven. This has a double handwrapped ladder border. There is a third line of removed weft threads which has me stumped (you can see it in the pictures as a very faint line above the other borders) - either this was a textile weaving fault, which I find hard to believe because a sheet of this calibre would have cost a mint back in the day and the maker would have made quite sure that the portion of textile being used was perfect, or the sheet is unfinished which again is weird unless it had never been used when I found it, but I found it without its sizing in. Or the third option, this was meant to be there, perhaps it was to supply a very crisp fold when the top of the sheet was folded over the blanket. The third option is my guess.

This is in excellent condition. There are a few small marks but nothing untoward, I have photographed them, they are very tiny. There is a very pale larger mark right at the bottom which will not be visible at all when the sheet is on a bed. The linen is really outstanding quality.

This measures an astonishing 274cm wide by an equally enormous 368cm long.
