Vintage 1940's piece of unused workpants or apron fabric
Another piece of deadstock fabric, this time a pure heavy cotton twill-woven drill in a deep charcoal colour with black pinstripes. This fabric was manufactured to be used for making work clothes, I have seen both aprons and workpants made out of similar fabric. The cotton is very closely-woven, this is like a soft canvas. It is in excellent condition It measures 143cm wide from selvedge to seldvedge by 202cm long. These pieces are rare precisely because they are work fabric, and were manufactured for working class people who couldn’t afford to hoard unused fabric.
The first picture is the most accurate in terms of colour.
