These pressed metal buttons were manufactured to be used on hunting jackets. Traditionally they depicted animals either used for hunting or the object of the hunt, and they had either the heads or the entire animal pressed into the metal. I’ve seen examples with deer, horses and boar, as there are here, but also foxes, dogs, pheasants and hares. These are becoming very hard to find, they are collectible within France and these ones are very beautiful examples. Although they were originally hunting buttons I like to think of them as now embodying the spirit of the animal they represent. I am selling them in sets of six or individually - your choice until I run out (but there are only five boar buttons). They measure 2.1cm in diameter. The price given is per set of six, I can sell them individually but they will be the same price - €4 per button.
