Complete set of twelve exceptional fine linen damask serviettes with intricate embroidered initials JP

€180.00

Ok I am stating now that this is the best complete set of serviettes I have so far come across. Sure I have found individual serviettes that are larger, or slightly finer (they can’t be much finer than these, it’s not possible) but I have never found an entire dinner service set of twelve in such beautiful damask, with such wonderful embroidery, in such good condition.

These must be unused, they are pretty perfect, the damask shows no signs of wear, and the only marks are clearly from storage (and are so tiny as to be missable if you are not looking, and are only on two of them). The damask is silken smooth, very fine, and the pattern is one of the most lively and intricate I have ever seen. And then there is the embroidered initials, couched so that they really stand out, but incredibly intricate. These are large, which was often the case with serviettes from the 19th and early 20th centuries belonging to wealthy households, which these most definitely are. These are just next level. They measure 77×80cm.
