19th century miniature of a woman with grapes and butterfly wings

This charming and slightly odd little portrait depicts a beautiful woman whose upswept hair is adorned with grapes and grape leaves and whose clothes look like they are made from butterfly wings. By the style of her sloping shoulders and hairdo I would say she is from around 1850. It is hard to know exactly what the medium is here, as she is under glass and the back of the wooden frame is firmly papered over with a page of commentary on Heraclitus from a 19th century book, but the background looks like a mezzotint with handpainted features and highlights. She’s exquisite. The framed picture measures 12.5×13cm. The frame is in excellent condition and has a little metal ring at the back to suspend it from a hook.
