Very long piece of 1930's or 40's deadstock cotton flannel workshirt fabric
This is a little bit of a find - a very long piece of almost-antique unused cotton flannel. This is a very particular sort of cotton flannel, it is not pyjama fabric - it was woven expressly to be made into mens’ workshirts for physical labour, and is not quite as soft or drapey as pyjama fabric. Very tightly woven in a twill-weave, one side is smooth and the other side is very slightly brushed, and the brushed side would have gone to the interior of the shirt. Both sides are otherwise identical, so it could be used the other way around if required. This piece is in excellent condition, the only discolouration is at the end around the stamp. It measures 81cm wide from selvedge to selvedge by just over 9 metres long.
