This is old shop stock dating from the late 40’s to the mid-50’s - it could be earlier but it will not be later. It has a gently scalloped edge with a field of polka-dots and classic flower-and-ribbon motifs. It is in perfect condition and although the design is delicate, the lace is very strong. This came from a large collection of old shop stock from a shop which must have closed in the 1950’s but had things dating back to the turn of the century. There are other pieces of lace from this same collection and in similar styles to this one and some of those pieces are still on their original boards and have their prices attached which is how I can date them.
This piece is 31.5cm wide and 190cm long.
