Antique jeweller's silver and gold stamp #3
This beautiful object is a stamp from the end of the 19th century or the very first years of the 20th century, made from solid steel, hand-engraved with the most beautiful delicate curlicue. This was used to stamp malleable metals, so silver and gold, and would have come from a jewellers shop. I’ve never seen anything quite like this before. The dealer who sold these to me said that they can be used on fine leather as well. This one measures 7.5cm long. It is in the form of a stylized oak leaf - it was a little bit hard to photograph but is truly beautiful.
