A beautiful example of a 19th century workshirt in handspun handwoven pure linen. This is a slightly larger example than many of these shirts (French people are quite small and were even smaller 150 years ago!), and it has been entirely handmade and handstitched . The pleats at the front allow the shirt some movement, and this particular piece sits and drapes beautifully. Have a look at the detail photos of the stitching. In very good condition, there is some slight wear to the edges of the cuffs and one small section of the selvedge hem. Otherwise excellent. It measures 60cm wide from armpit to armpit lying flat across the chest, and 54cm from shoulder seam to seam across the back of the neck. The sleeves are 52cm from shoulder seam to cuff and it is 100cm long.
