Vintage red flowery curtain fabric 1930's? 40's? 50's?
As you can see I can’t quite make my mind up about the date of these pieces of good quality vintage fabric. I think they are most likely late 30’s, but could be wrong. Not later than very early 50’s though. Two of them are made up into some sort of - thing - could it be a curtain for an interior glass door or window which needs to be held at top and bottom? I am not sure. These two pieces are in perfect condition. The third piece is a remnant, long and thin, made out of two joined pieces. This one has fading in the very centre, and what looks like a deliberately pulled thread on either side, it could have been a project that was started but never finished. The two perfect pieces each measure 54cm at hemmed edges but the fabric is 63cm wide, and 142cm long, the remnant is 32×260cm. They have ‘grand teint meuble’ printed at various locations - this indicates that it was made as furnishing fabric and is a high quality fabric dyed using wash-fast dyes.
