Beautifully textured and quite fine handwoven farmhouse pure linen tablecloth from the late 19th century, with initials FLMC in one corner. This has raised weft stripes at either end, made by adding thicker threads into the weft as the cloth was being woven. Tablecloths like this were often used during the grape harvests to cover the lunch trestle-tables of the workers. In excellent condition, this measures 114×227cm.
