An amazing piece. I found this jacket with several pairs of flared denim jeans, all the same brand, all unworn. I didn’t take the jeans because 70’s styling and fit is often tricky for us these days - people believed in smoking as a dietary aid and never did any exercise. I don’t think we need to go back there, as cool as the clothes were, and so I left the flared jeans because the waist and the hips were the same size (also they were expensive and I had to make a choice!), but I took this awesome jeans jacket. The amazing standup collar, the pleats, the studs, the cut, it’s all absolutely wonderful. The original label is still on this piece - and I haven’t washed it for this reason - it could do with a wash before wearing but only because it’s coming up to being 50 years old and that’s a long time between baths - it has been stored beautifully for all its life. The only issue is the two bottom press-studs at the front, the top one has loosened and has transferred over, both parts of the press-stud are still intact but one side is not where it should be. This is a negligible problem - the bottom one still fastens and it is completely invisible in any case. This measures 53cm from armpit to armpit done up and lying flat, the back of the neck from shoulder seam to seam is 47cm and the sleeves are 64cm from shoulder seam to cuff.
