Absolutely stunning fine cotton blouse with puffed sleeves and exceptional embroidery

Sale Price:€50.00 Original Price:€90.00
sale

Incredible to find in this condition, this is a early 20th century fine cotton blouse with really beautiful puffed sleeves and some truly exquisite embroidery. The fineness of the cotton is what makes it so remarkable to find in such good condition, the only damage I can spot is a tiny tear on the inside doubled button placket - nothing is visible on the outside of the blouse. Entirely handstitched, with infills of mechanical lace and fine corded edges to the puff sleeves, it looks so much better on with arms filling those sleeves. I think the pearl buttons have been added at a later date and the original buttons would have been tiny mother-of-pearl numbers. Please look at the measurements carefully, this is a small to medium but pay attention to the size of the arm-openings. It measures 51cm from armpit to armpit lying flat across the front of the chest, but the arm openings are 12.5cm, so 25cm around the thickest part of the top of the arm, which is quite small.
