Long narrow 19th century handwoven hemp teatowel initials BB
From my contact in the Vendée once again I have some limited pieces of amazing hemp coming from a wealthy 19th century farmhouse. This is a large teatowel which was possibly cut down from a worn-out sheet as it has hems on either side , although the fabric is in excellent condition. There is a hook tape at the top end and cross-stitched initials BB in one corner. It measures 47×100cm.
