This lovely curtain probably dates from the 70’s or earlier, it could be as far back as the late 50’s. It’s a long curtain made from a thick soft shiny cotton sateen. It has been lengthened at the top by adding about 20cm of another very similar fabric with a slightly different print. The main part of the curtain has faded slightly but the colours are still bright and beautiful and the details are still there - the top addition is still perfect. The top has been made into pinch pleats backed with very wide cotton herringbone weave tape - these could easily be unpicked I think to make the entire curtain the same width. It is in excellent condition, it has no stains or damage and no areas of stronger fading. It measures 102cm at the top, 179cm at the bottom, and is 323cm long.
