This sheet looks quite austere at first glance, but a closer examination reveals the incredible amount of detailed work that has gone into the border, which has been made by carefully and minutely cutting and drawing out threads and then binding and embroidering all the edges. This is weeks worth of work. The sheet itself is exceptionally good quality linen, quite heavy but very drapey and dense and soft. This is in perfect condition and appears to have been very little used. It measures 231×338cm
