A wonderful pure linen sheet set, a top sheet and two matching pillowcases, all with hand-embroidered scalloped edges and hand-embroidered initials RK. This set is made from relatively fine linen. The pillowcases do up at the back with very old Atlantic mother-of-pearl buttons, I know they are both old and Atlantic by their shape and by their superb golden lustre (they haven’t been dyed). They are almost perfect, the only fault is that one of those amazing buttons is missing. The sheet has a few small faults - there is a tiny tear at the top border where the embroidery starts - there is another small tear at the lowed side edge which is where there is a weaving fault in the linen - one weft thread has been skipped which has weakened the weave at that point - and finally there is a very small moth-hole. I have pictured all these faults and the set is priced accordingly. A couple of minutes with a needle to make sure they don’t get any larger and this will be good for many years to come.
The sheet measures 222×297cm and the pillowcases are each62×64cm at insert with a border of 6cm width.
