Large piece of unused unbleached pure fine linen fabric #2

€95.00
sold out

Probably 1950’s or 60’s, this is a large piece coupon of lovely fine pure sheeting linen, unbleached and in a warm natural linen colour. It has never been used and still contains its original sizing. It has some small faint marks where it has been exposed to water, these are all in one section about 45cm from one end (I’ve photographed them) - they should come out or considerably diminish with a good soak. BUT! before you soak the sizing out you might want to cut it, as vintage and antique French and Belgian linen fabric is unlike anything available to buy now, and without the sizing it can be very hard to handle. Professional embroidery artisans would buy lengths of this fabric, and hem them and work the embroidery on them and sell them to customers with the sizing still in the fabric for this reason.

This is 243cm wide selvedge to selvedge and 282cm long.
