This beautiful bright piece of mattress ticking has never been used and is in perfect condition. Its colour and intricacy make this a very unusual and rare example. I’ve not seen one like this before, and I think it is probably from around 1930, although its beautiful brightness makes it look brand new. The damask weave has used the shiny natural linen fibre to create the silken leaf design. The colour is most accurate in the close-up shots - the distance photo gives an idea of the overall effect but the colour is not as accurate. It measures 144cm wide selvedge to selvedge by 140cm long.
